Raymarine i70s Wind Instrument Installation on a Jeanneau 440 Sailboat

Upgrade Marine recently completed a custom marine electronics upgrade aboard a Jeanneau 440 sailboat, installing dual Raymarine i70s wind and sailing instruments at both helm stations.

The goal of this project was to improve visibility of critical sailing information while underway. With the chartplotter positioned at only one helm, the owner wanted a dedicated display solution that would allow wind data and sailing information to be easily viewed from either steering position.

Improving Sailing Data Visibility at Both Helm Stations

Sailboats with dual helm stations provide excellent visibility and control while sailing, but they can also create challenges when it comes to instrument placement. The owner wanted to avoid having to rely on a single chartplotter screen while maneuvering the boat and instead have dedicated sailing data available at each helm.

By installing two Raymarine i70s displays, the captain can now easily monitor important information including wind speed, wind direction, and other sailing data from either side of the cockpit.

This type of upgrade is a great example of how properly selected marine electronics can improve both safety and enjoyment on the water.

Clean Raymarine Installation with NavPod Rail Mounts

To achieve the best viewing angle and maintain a clean appearance, Upgrade Marine installed the Raymarine i70s displays using NavPod rail mounts at each helm station.

The rail mount installation provides a secure mounting solution while positioning the displays exactly where they are needed while sailing. Careful placement of marine electronics is important on sailboats, where visibility, accessibility, and cockpit space all need to be considered.

A professional installation is about more than simply adding new equipment. The goal is to create a system that feels like it belongs on the boat while improving the overall boating experience.
